The Pasture Land- Use it Sustainably (PLUS) is a pilot project that has worked with local herder communities in Ider soum, Zavkhan Province to improve rural livelihoods and contribute to the sustainable regeneration of communal open range pastures and increased productivity of the land and livestock through applying and using Holistic Pasture Management (HM) techniques.

Onsite Training: Training sessions focused on the Holistic Grazing Management approach, which promotes timely recovery of community pastures during the grass growing season. Herders demonstrated a strong understanding of Pasture Holistic Management and committed to sharing their knowledge during bagh meetings to support future decision-making processes.
The PLUS Project Closing Ceremony, titled “Findings and Lessons Learned,” was successfully held on April 26, 2024, in Ider soum. Throughout the three-year implementation period, the PLUS Project collaborated closely with Savory Institute to introduce and pilot the Pasture Holistic Management approach in the soum for the first time.
As part of the project implementation from 2021 to 2024, the Ider Milk Initiative received support through the provision of milk processing equipment aimed at strengthening the capacity of herders, particularly women herders, and increasing household income. During the PLUS Project Closing Ceremony, all workshop equipment was officially handed over to the Ider Suun Tsatsal Herders’ Cooperative.
