The Climate Adapted Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture Project addresses food insecurity in one of Mongolia’s harshest climatic regions. Bayan-Ulgii Province faces extreme weather conditions that traditionally limit agricultural production to just three months per year. The project has successfully introduced scale passive solar greenhouses that extend the growing season from three months to eight months, completely eliminating early frost damage. This breakthrough enables families to cultivate fresh vegetables from April through October, dramatically improving household nutrition and food security.
