The In-Their-Shoes (ITS) Project is an initiative by ADRA Mongolia, launched in early 2021. The project aims to support financially challenged single-headed households and underprivileged school children across different districts of Ulaanbaatar. Funded and driven by the voluntary contributions of ADRA Mongolia staff and their personal networks, the project works closely with local government agencies, including the Labour and Social Protection Agency, to identify and assist those most in need in the ger districts of the city.
Why It Started
During the 2020 pandemic, many low-income families in Mongolia lost their resources. ADRA Mongolia staff responded by pooling their own money and personal donations to help those in need.
Who We Work With
We partner with local government agencies, including the Labour and Social Protection Agency at the district level, to find and support the right families and children.
Where We Work
The project focuses on different districts of Ulaanbaatar, especially in the ger districts where many of the most vulnerable families live.
