responding in times of crises

When crisis strikes, urgent resources are ready, and often prepositioned, to reach areas in need as quickly as possible through ADRA’s global network and partners. Funds, materials, and personnel are coordinated through ADRA’s country offices nearest to the disaster so plans can be put into action immediately and appropriate relief supplies reach the areas hardest hit.

957000 livestock perished in 2023

More than 957000 livestock already perished in Mongolia because of a dzud phenomenon.

DZUD Emergency Response

We responded to a Dzud!

Dzud was challenging for all herders, but they all managed to survive. We made every effort to assist them as well. ADRA Mongolia reached out to 150 most vulnerable herder households in the two (2) soums of Bayan-Ulgii (Bugat and Sagsai) and Ider soum in Zavkhan provinces. The Agency transferred 300’000 Tugrugs ($85) to the bank accounts to buy livestock feeds such as fodder and hay to survive the harsh winter. The fund is being provided by ADRA International in partnership with ADRA Asia and Mongolia Mission of Seventh-day Adventists.

Our Impact

ADRA opened its door to Mongolia in 1994 working for 29 years and partners with individuals, communities, organizations, and governments to improve the quality of life for Mongolians through those programs.
