Goal
The yearly In-Their-Shoes project aims to reach out to Ulaanbaatar’s most vulnerable communities and families by distributing essential food items to selected families, as well as winter boots to children aged 6-16 from single-headed households.
Objectives
To distribute essential food supplies to selected vulnerable households to help alleviate food insecurity.
To provide winter boots and warm socks to children aged 6 to 16 from targeted families to ensure they are better protected during the harsh winter months.
Highlights
- Beneficiary selection was carried out in four districts of Ulaanbaatar—Bayanzurkh, Bayangol, Khan-Uul, and Songinokhairkhan—in close coordination with local social welfare departments.
- ADRA Mongolia prioritized the most vulnerable groups, including single-headed households, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and families with extremely limited income.
- A total of 100 food packs were distributed. Each pack contained:
10 kilograms of flour
5 kilograms of rice
1 liter of vegetable oil
Salt
Packs of noodles and cookies
- Additionally, 50 pairs of winter boots and socks were distributed to children aged 6 to 16 from single-headed households.
