ADRA Mongolia is seeking a dynamic and self motivated applicant for the following position:

Job Title: Technical Advisor of Food Security program

Location: Ulaanbaatar city and Project sites

Job Summary
Provides conceptual and technical advice and expertise to ADRA Mongolia with regard to development of proposals/programs, methodologies, innovations, tools and working approaches in the field of food security focusing on the achievements of the following results:


Analyze information and databases on potential funding opportunities and calls for proposals and recommend proposal ideas to the Programs Director
Assist the Programs Director to develop high quality proposal and concept note creation by generating new ideas and approaches in the sector (identify themes, conduct needs assessment, research/analysis for potential proposal development and develop concept notes/proposals)
Actively participate in seeking sources of funding to initiate or expand projects, and expand donor base
Propose ideas and proposals so that internal resources are mobilized effectively and efficiently for raising the funds/income generation

Provide technical assistance to the project team to ensure that they apply fundamental concepts and principles of a professional and discipline or technical specialty relating to the sector at the implementation level
Provide technical input and advice to the project team on development of training curriculum, training resource materials and manuals in the relevant field of expertise
Analyze innovative strategies, best practices and new approaches in the relevant field and provide guidance to the project team to apply those best practices and new and effective approaches in the field
Provide technical assistance to the projects managers in preparation of high quality reports (quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports to the donor offices)

Provide expertise for designing, monitoring, evaluation and follow up of project interventions (including baseline, mid-term, final and post project evaluations)
Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the project teams in monitoring and evaluation, analysis and review of programs and documenting lessons learnt, best practices and experiences, to improve program quality and impact
Ensure findings, lessons learnt and experiences of the past and current projects in the field are reflected in the development of new/future proposals and concept notes.

Build the capacities of the project staff and project managers in the field
Promote learning and sharing of information, case studies, and lessons learnt and best practices among the project staff
Facilitate enhanced collaboration with other organizations and NGOs working in related fields to raise the profile of the program and strengthen project outcomes

Other duties assigned by the Country Director.

A Master’s-level degree in relevant field including International development, food security, agriculture, applied agricultural economics or nutrition. Minimum of 7 years related experience in food security related programme
Proven experience with project management, proposal development, report writing, capacity building, budget control and training
Experience in working in government offices, international nongovernment organizations are preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and spoken English
·         Ability to travel extensively in rural project sites (1-2 weeks per month)
